NASA held an online vote recently to name the new segment of the International Space Station. Some of the top write-in suggestions included "Colbert", "Myyearbook" and "Xenu". I think that Xenu is a Scientology reference. The whole thing reminded me of the Modern Library's online vote a little while ago to name the best books ever published. The top ten in that list included four books by Ayn Rand and three by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
In conclusion, democracy doesn't work.
